And then there was lights

Spend the day doing some wiring and soldering so that there could be a night shift. I must say that I had no clue on how to wire anything and what I needed, but some friendly help from some members on:

did the trick.

Still winter and a new locomotive to the family

The village is set in snow. All the houses are set and the roofs painted. The next step before painting, is to make a bit of mounds here and there, work on the road, the stream and the mountain.
This new acquisition is a EMD SW900 from Walthers.

Winter as arrived

I've been installing each house and putting a bit of snow touches here and there. What I mean about snow touches, is that I'm putting plaster to the base before finalizing with the Woodland Scenic snow paste, snow flakes, water and water effects.
I just received a car with lights and wanted to see what it would look like. So, here you have a woman that just arrived home, left the car running and went and opened the garage door and light.

Plastering time

With some plaster rolls, I did the area between the two roads and installed two drain pipes made from scratch. Also as you can see from the picture, I've build the container yard office building.
The village as been covered with plaster rolls. I will then install the houses in it's locations and start working on making the foundation for the snow by putting plaster here and there.

A bit of staging and my first video

Here's a bit of staging at the warehouse. I bought this crane kit, this has to be the smallest thing I had to assemble so far. The pulleys were no bigger than the head of a pin.

Finally got my locomotive to run, so here's my first Canadian Pacific run.

Roads and electricity

Started working on my roads near the container area and the warehouse area.
Tried to make a guard rail that will go in my village. Very happy with the looks, now I'll just have to do five feet of it. It's made with 1/8" dowel and 3/4" high which I've drilled three holes in and passed a tiny gauge wire through it.
I've also made my own double culvert for the village. Did a bit of research on the net and found this type with all the measurements. Now I just need to make another one.
The lights are all installed in the houses. I painted the inside walls black where the lights are. Next, I'll be working on the two houses that just came in.
